There must be a secret with grandmas.
They have the best no-fail recipes, they cook like pro chefs, and are always there to put it on the table with a smile.
Simply, they are magicians in the kitchen.
That brings me to my grandma. She is 93 years old and is one of the coolest women I know.
She’s an amazing cook, but most importantly, she is the most thoughtful, giving, and positive person I have EVER met. I always say, “If I could just be like her”…
She is definitely a role model. Every time I talk with her she reminds me how grateful she is… how special each and every day is… and how blessed her life has been.
I thank God that I have had the opportunity to know her and know her heart.
I wish you could meet her to see what I see, but instead you will just have to try
my Grandma’s Banana Bread.
Then, you will receive a little piece of her – a gift.
My grandma sends me her recipes hand written.
It is so thoughtful that she takes the time.
Look at the paper she used…
she’s always finding ways to remind others how fortunate we are.
Here is what you will need…
2 – 3 ripe bananas (1 cup)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbsp. milk
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup melted butter
Nuts (if desired)
Mash 2-3 ripe bananas with 1 c. sugar and 2 eggs until lite.
Stir in 3 Tbsp. milk
Add 1 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder. Mix thoroughly.
Add one more cup of flour and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Stir in a 1/2 cup melted butter.
Grease and flour bread pan. Cook at 350 degrees for one hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
After cooling,
cut a piece or two…
grab your favorite beverage…
and enjoy!
Every. Single. Bite.
Do you have a favorite recipe from your grandma?
I would love to hear.
